Pounding Hammer

Belongs to the category of pneumatic hammers. Thanks to its powerful punch, the same is used:

• when developing steeply dipping thin and powerful coal seams;
• when developing strata with unstable lateral rocks, where blasting may cause disturbance to them;
• when auxiliary mechanization for demolition of large pieces of rock, shaping of the face when laying galleries for making ditches, etc.;
• for removing and crushing rock blocks in quarries for building materials;
  for breaking concrete and asphalt pavements in construction.

The action of the hammer is based on the transmission of the impact load on the working tool (awl) by a piston, which moves reciprocally – stepwise in a cylinder by the energy of the working fluid (compressed air). Upon receiving a piston blow, the working tool is embedded in the array and breaks off pieces of rock.
